Privacy Policy
YouTube Lab ("the application") is a private analytics tool operated by its sole user, the owner of the YouTube channel Psychoactive Minds ("the owner"), on the owner's own computer. This policy explains what the application does with data obtained from Google and YouTube.
1. Use of YouTube API Services
The application uses YouTube API Services (YouTube Data API v3, YouTube Analytics API and YouTube Reporting API). By using the application, the owner agrees to be bound by the YouTube Terms of Service. Google's handling of data is described in the Google Privacy Policy.
2. What data is accessed
- The owner's own channel, after the owner signs in with Google and grants the YouTube read-only and analytics scopes: video list and metadata, view and engagement statistics, audience retention, traffic sources and comments on the owner's videos.
- Public information about other channels and videos in the channel's subject area: titles, descriptions, publish dates, durations and public statistics, obtained through the YouTube Data API.
The application does not post, upload, edit or delete anything on YouTube on the owner's behalf.
3. How the data is used
Only to show the owner analytics about the owner's own channel and to research topics for future videos. The data is not used for advertising, is not sold, is not shared with any third party and is not combined with data about identifiable persons other than the owner.
4. Where the data is stored and for how long
All data is stored on the owner's own computer, in a local database, with the owner's OAuth credentials kept in the operating-system keychain. Data obtained from YouTube API Services is refreshed or deleted within 30 days, as required by the YouTube API Services Terms of Service; aggregate statistics may be retained as the Terms permit. No data is stored on servers operated by the owner or by anyone else.
5. Cookies and third parties
The application has no website functionality beyond this informational page, sets no cookies and uses no analytics or advertising services. Access to YouTube data goes through Google's official APIs only.
6. Revoking access
The owner can revoke the application's access to Google data at any time at https://security.google.com/settings/security/permissions. Revoking access stops all further reads; locally stored data can be deleted by the owner at any time.
