YouTube Lab

A private, single-user analytics tool for the YouTube channel Psychoactive Minds, run by its owner on their own computer.

What it does

YouTube Lab reads the owner's own channel statistics through the official YouTube Data, Analytics and Reporting APIs, and researches public videos in the channel's niche. It helps plan scripts: which topics are covered, what the retention of past videos looks like, how a draft compares with the channel's own history.

Who uses it

One person: the channel owner. The application is not distributed, has no public sign-up and is never offered to third parties. Signing in with Google is used only to read the owner's own channel.

Data and privacy

Data from YouTube is stored on the owner's computer only, is refreshed or deleted following the YouTube API Services Terms of Service, and is never sold, shared or republished. Details are in the privacy policy.
